priorities
So, I was going to write a long blog post about priorities, but... (see picture) I'll have to summarize it.
"Action expresses priorities." ~Gandhi
Lately I've been struggling with finding time to spend each day with God. It seems like I have too many things to do, and I procrastinate until it's too late to focus. But this quote from Hudson Taylor helped me to see the importance of making time with God. It should be my first priority.
"Do not have your concert first and tune your instruments afterward. Begin the day with God." ~Hudson Taylor
Looking at your life, how high does it appear that Jesus is placed on your priority list? As I've discovered, our real priorities are shown through our actions. Let us not think that we live one way when we really live another. To put it bluntly, if our actions don't prove that Jesus is our top priority, the only logical conclusion is that He is not our top priority. And that, though so common, is a tragedy indeed when we think of the reward and the love of God that we are losing.
"Is it not strange that we can for one moment lose sight of heaven, and the increasing glory; and grovel in the dust to gather pebbles, for the pleasure of throwing them afterwards away?" ~Mary Winslow
Thank you, Shelby. I really needed that.
ReplyDeleteSo very true... A much needed reminder. Thanks.
