never forget

"United we stand."
"So many names, there is barely room on the walls of the heart."
“Freedom itself was attacked this morning by a faceless coward and freedom will be defended.”
“Are you guys ready? Let’s roll!”
"We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail."
"Never forget."
Since 9/11, our country has never been the same as we battle terrorism in this world. It has been ten years, and the war still rages. But we will not give up because of the fire put in us by those tragic events. That tragedy left us scarred, but also made us determined to never let evil triumph. We will never forget.
God does not waste our suffering. He has a plan for every tear, every heartache. Fulfilling that plan doesn't come through forgetting what we've been through. It comes by learning to love through the hardest times and learning to hold on to God when it doesn't feel like there's anything to hold on to.
You've probably been through something really hard in your life. For some of us, it was devastating. So hard that we couldn't even think. I know I have. It's only been six weeks, not ten years, but I know I will never forget it. Yet there is a comfort in knowing that God doesn't ask us to just put it behind us. He asks us to trust that Him. To trust that He knows. To trust that He will never forget either.
Remembering September 11th inspires us to push forward in the fight against terror. By remembering the struggles in our life, we can be reminded to push forward in the Good Fight. The fight for the souls of those still with us.
Remember the things God has done in your life. Because every detail, big and small, is for a purpose bigger than we know.
Never forget.
Beautifully written. :)
