church again

 

we’re going to church again 

a lot of little reasons

got us there 

kids

community 

tradition 

etc. 

it felt surreal 

walking through doors I’ve never walked through 

yet know so well

going through the motions 

but for once 

just accepting them 

finding there are many 

searching 

for something 

different 

a church 

where God isn’t male

where the Bible isn’t everything 

where certainty isn’t the goal 

so here I am again,

for the first time and for the ten thousandth
