dads and daughters
Yesterday was the 4th annual Daddy-Daughter Dance. The girls have been counting down the days, and I have been eagerly waiting to unveil their dresses and fix their hair up just how they want it. I love seeing them light up as they spin for Daddy to show him how their dress twirls. He is the most wonderful man and makes them feel like the world.
Thinking about the song “Dads and Daughters” by MaRynn Taylor.
Ten little toesShe has his noseAnd the blue from her mother's eyesHis hands were shaking'Round that pink blanketHe hoped he was holding her rightIn that moment, he realizedDads and daughtersThey go togetherLike boats and waterThey're meant for each otherThrough wind and the wavesThey'll sail away from the stormAnd make it to shoreThere's nothing strongerThan a love between dads and daughtersBefore he could blinkShe was 16Stealing the keys to his carHe'd wait at homeLet her go on her ownKnew she wouldn't run too farDads and daughtersThey go togetherLike boats and waterThey're meant for each otherThrough wind and the wavesThey'll sail away from the stormAnd make it to shoreThere's nothing strongerThan a love between dads and daughtersmHe'll try not to cryWhen he sees her in whiteGives her to another manI hope he understandsDads and daughtersThey go togetherLike boats and waterThey're meant for each otherThrough wind and the wavesThey'll sail away from the stormAnd make it to shoreThere's nothing strongerThan a love between dads and daughters
