flu with you

This week, we were knocked down by the flu that's been going around. I have not been so incapacitated for a long time, so miserable for so many days in a row. 

But one silver lining in an otherwise very unpleasant week was that I got to be reminded what a wonderful person I married. 

When I was losing my patience with Johnnie, Nate was stepping in and making him laugh. 

When I was hurting and discouraged, he was finding me new alternatives. 

When he was sick and in pain, still he was giving me back rubs. 

And so many little things, over and over again. 

I am a lucky, lucky wife. I take him for granted too often. But this week was a reminder of who I was given when we promised, "In sickness and in health."
