oh the sweetest moments

This week had some unexpected turmoil, and I found myself emotional and often disconnecting from the people right in front of me. So part way through the week, I had to remind myself to be present and be grateful. And for me, snapping a photo not only says more than a thousand words, it is a practice of noticing and honoring the beauty in a moment, and saving it to remember. Here are my three sweetest moments this week.

Zinni wanted to do the dishes, and she did an excellent job. But what I loved most was hearing her singing "Dona Nobis Pacem" (at least, trying to) as she washed.

Johnnie was having a hard time eating his dinner and I was done trying to get him through it, so I just told him he wouldn't be having ice cream tonight and left to clean up dinner. Lucy wanted ice cream for him so much that she worked with him bite by bite, coming up with new ways to get him cooperative and celebrating each one.

I just adore the moments when he comes and finds me, grabs my hand, and walks me to whatever he wants to do with me. Often it's to his bedroom and he'll close the door so he has me all to himself. Today it was to play with the marble run with Woody in his lap and Buzz in mine.

I am a lucky mama, indeed!
