frozen week

We were snowed and iced in this week in the Portland area. We ended up with a whole week at home, kids off of school, enjoying an extended winter break. 

A week of puzzles, of baking, of games around the table. 

A week of gathering up on the bed, talking together while I’m nursing. 

A week of sledding down the driveway, coming in for hot showers, eating popcorn and drinking hot chocolate. 

A week of snuggles, waking up from naps, watching Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood. 

 

I’m grateful for these weeks where we have nowhere else we’d rather be than home, no one else we’d rather be with than each other.
