unity

The theme verse at Trinity Western University this year is Ephesians 4:1-6:

I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

The theme TWU chose from this verse is "Called to Unity, Committed to Community."

I don't have much to write about this week; things have been going well. Mostly we just need prayer. Derived from this verse, we need:

Unity

- prayer that people would be eager to join the ministries on campus, whether discipleship groups, coming to chapel, or participating in dorm activities
- prayer that students would want to pray together
- prayer for Christ-centered, self-sacrificing unity among my team, the Intercultural Programs team, beginning with myself

Community

- prayer that we at TWU would be true, genuine followers of Jesus who love each other genuinely
- prayer for the members of our community who are struggling or have given up on their faith
- prayer that people would be welcomed in the Globe (the public apartment-style lounge that I'm a host in); that we would be the hands and feet of Jesus

Most of all, we pray that we will know the Father. He is what truly unites us.
