find my home
A friend shared this song with me months ago and it is one of the few I listened to on repeat in recent years. It has captured much of what I have felt in this past season, and made it beautiful and communal. If possible, I'd encourage you to just listen rather than read the lyrics; there is something essential about the music to fill in the words and the feelings.
I am sinking in the water
And I feel alone
And I am chasing after things
I can call my own
And I feel alone
And I am chasing after things
I can call my own
But those things they keep on failing me
They don't give what I need to find my home
To find my home
They don't give what I need to find my home
To find my home
Sometimes I wonder why I'm breathing,
Sometimes I don't
Sometimes I want the things around me
To give me hope
Sometimes I don't
Sometimes I want the things around me
To give me hope
But that kind of hope's deceiving
It leads me down a dark, familiar road
Yeah, that kind of hope's deceiving
It leads me down a dark, familiar road
It leads me down a dark, familiar road
Yeah, that kind of hope's deceiving
It leads me down a dark, familiar road
I wanna know where I am going
And I want to grow
I wanna know that you are with me
And that you're close
And I want to grow
I wanna know that you are with me
And that you're close
Will you show me what I'm missing
Will you show me what I really want the most
Yeah I know I'm missing something
So you show me what I need to find my home
Will you show me what I really want the most
Yeah I know I'm missing something
So you show me what I need to find my home
To find my home
